How it Started
I fell in love with Mahjongg at my first lesson. The touch and click of the tiles, the thrill of a fresh challenge, the warmth of gathering together with friends . . . I was hooked! Many tiles later, I began teaching so I could share my passion
with others. The table is set.

in your first class, Mahj 101. Learn the essentials - set-up, basic rules, etiquette and you will be ready to play! The lesson includes the NMJL playing card, the Oh My Mahjong 101 guide, and of course, a lot of fun!

If you've never had the experience, the tables wash the tiles and build the walls in a matter of seconds! Cool to watch but allows for so many more games of play! Derby Day Rookie and Beyond Rookie Tournament at Local Three
Grab your fascinator and race for the roses—or the tournament championship!
Join My Magnolia Mahjongg for a fabulous Derby Day of play featuring two divisions:
Rookie Division
Enjoy 4 rounds of play (2 games every 55–60 minutes) using the NMJL card, standard rules and My Magnolia Mahjongg scoring. Players must be familiar with the card and able to play unassisted. Prizes awarded to top scorers.
Beyond Rookie Division
Ready for more? For those with a tournament or two under their belts or just feeling confident - play 4 rounds (3 games every 55–60 minutes) under the same rules. A bit more competitive, but still rooted in kindness and a mutual love of mahjongg. Cash prizes for top scorers.
We’ll also have door prizes, light bites at lunch, and a cash bar. Hosted at Local Three—an award-winning restaurant known for its Southern fare, craft cocktails, beautiful setting (and free parking)!
Treat yourself to a Saturday celebrating your favorite passion,with plenty of time later to cheer on your favorite at the Derby. It's the Year of the Horse!
